
Limoncello
Ingredients
- 10 Lemons Substitute limes or a mix of both
- 1 litre Vodka
- 2 cups Sugar
- 4 cups Water
Instructions
- Zest the lemons by either grating or peeling. Try and avoid the white “pith” below the yellow or green skin as this can make you limoncello taste bitter.
- Place zest into a large glass mixing bowl or similar. Pour in vodka. Cover and let infuse for one week at room temperature.
- After one week, combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. DO NOT STIR. Boil for 15 minutes. Allow syrup to cool to room temperature.
- Combine vodka and syrup mixture. Strain into glass bottle(s), and seal. Let mixture age for 1 week at room temperature.
- Place bottled limoncello in fridge and serve cool, poured over ice if you prefer.
